There are a couple of fantastic conferences coming up that we recommend attending.
Oregon Association of Vocational Special Needs Personnel
February 19-20 — Hood River
This conference is aimed at anyone who works with individuals with disabilities. Lots of great workshops and breakouts sessions offering opportunities for learning, collaborating and getting to know what’s going on around the state. And you can’t beat the beautiful location. For more information go to www.oavsnp.org.
April 29 — Deschutes County Expo Center
This conference is for everybody – students, families, educators, agencies and self advocates of all ages. Its aim is to help create a more inclusive society. There will be lots of breakout sessions with information and resources to support and empower individuals with disabilities. Breakout sessions include presentations by topic experts and self-advocates sharing their personal experiences. Matt Roloff from the TLC show Little People, Big World is the keynote speaker. It sounds like his presentation will be very inspiring. For more information go to http://www.breakingbarriersoregon.com/
