Chalkboard Evaluation Grant
The High Desert ESD, in collaboration with Harney, Grant, Jefferson and Lake ESD, has been awarded a grant by the Chalkboard Project to provide technical assistance, support and training to districts around the new Senate Bill 290 staff evaluation requirements. SB290 requires all school districts to include the adopted Core Teaching and Administrator Standards for evaluations of all teachers and administrators by July 1, 2013. In December of 2011, the Oregon State Board of Education adopted the InTASC Teacher Standards and theNPBEA Administrator Standards, which guide district evaluation requirements.
This webpage has been created as a resource for participating districts and trainers. It includes a PowerPointpresentation describing the components of SB290 and its requirements. It also includes background documents, and district evaluation systems based on the Charlotte Danielson framework. Danielson’s framework is the basis for evaluation systems for High Desert ESD, Sisters School District, Crook County School District and Redmond School District, but each have modified their evaluation systems to fit their own district’s needs. Additionally, Bend-LaPine School District has incorporated the work of Kim Marshall as part of their evaluation methodology.
The original grant proposal and evaluation forms are also available at this site.
