We are aware of the arrest and indictment of a former HDESD employee who worked in our Early Learning Hub.
Earlier this month, we were informed by law enforcement that the individual was under investigation. Upon learning about the investigation, we immediately placed the employee on administrative leave. The individual is no longer employed by HDESD.
We take this situation very seriously. At this time, we have no information indicating that any children served through our programs – or who live in Central Oregon – were involved.
We are cooperating fully with law enforcement. Because this is an active legal matter and involves personnel confidentiality, we are limited in what we can share.
The safety and well-being of the children and families we serve remains our highest priority.
