January is School Board Appreciation Month, a time to recognize and thank a group whose work often happens quietly, behind the scenes.

High Desert Education Service District’s Board of Directors is made up of dedicated local community members who serve in this role in addition to their full-time jobs and other responsibilities. While they do not manage the district’s day-to-day operations, their role is essential to HDESD’s success. Board members set direction, ask thoughtful and sometimes difficult questions, steward public resources, and help ensure the organization remains focused on serving districts, educators, and students across the region.

When systems are running smoothly, it is often the result of strong governance that may not be immediately visible. The care, integrity, and collaborative spirit our board brings to its work create the conditions that allow staff and partner districts to do their jobs well.

We are deeply grateful for the time, service, and commitment our board members give to HDESD and to the communities we serve. Their leadership makes a meaningful difference for our region, and we are proud to recognize them this month.

Thank you to our Board of Directors for your dedication and service.
