We’re excited to share that the Family Access Network (FAN) has received a $50,000 grant from the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation to help connect children and families across Central Oregon with the essential resources they need to thrive.

As a program of High Desert Education Service District (HDESD), FAN works every day to remove barriers that can get in the way of learning. Through school-based advocates, FAN helps families access necessities such as housing assistance, food, clothing, school supplies, health-related needs, and other critical resources so students can come to school healthy, supported, and ready to learn.

This generous grant will help FAN continue responding quickly when families need assistance most.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation’s continued partnership,” said Tasha McFarland, chair of the FAN Foundation Board of Directors. “Their generosity helps ensure local children and families have access to the resources they need, and together we’re making our communities stronger.”

While FAN is a program of High Desert ESD, fundraising and community support are led by the FAN Foundation, an independent nonprofit organization governed by its own board of directors. The Foundation’s partnerships with donors, businesses, and charitable organizations make it possible for FAN advocates to continue serving thousands of children and families throughout Central Oregon.

We’re proud to celebrate this investment in our region’s students and families and grateful to the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation for helping make a lasting difference. Together with the FAN Foundation and our many community partners, we’re creating brighter futures for children across Central Oregon.
