About Substitute Services

The High Desert ESD provides substitute teaching and educational assistant services for many local school districts including Bend-LaPine, Redmond, Crook County, Sisters, and Culver. Additionally, the ESD provides substitute services to area EI/ECSE programs and the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC). We work directly with the High Desert ESD Human Resources Department.

Thank you for your interest in working as a substitute school employee. All substitutes are required to attend an orientation meeting before they can be employed by the ESD.

No additional orientations will be held for the 2011-12 school year, due to the high number of current substitutes and the reduction in substittue usage by our component districts.  Please check back Summer 2012 for future orientation dates.
