About First Step

First Step to Success is based on the Positive Behavioral Supports program used by many schools in Deschutes County. Areas of teaching include being safe, responsible and respectful in all situations at school.  The Program also works to increases a child’s social skill based in learning how to be a good friend and becoming a leader in the classroom. As part of the First Step to Success Program families participate in HomeBase which includes six one-hour sessions focusing on positive reinforcement at home, sharing school, child development and celebrating time together as a family.
