HDESD's Career and Technical Education program invited Forestry and Agriculture teachers for a two-day, hands-on workshop taught by nationally recognized instructor Quentin Rund. Quentin is an experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) analyst and trainer of ArcView GIS and ArcMap software from ESRI.
He coordinates with crop researchers on experimental design and analysis. Quentin also works with businesses on general data analysis, sales tracking, equipment logistics and customer/market studies.

Funds from the Perkins Grant provided a set of Global Positioning System (GPS) units and a site license for The Geographic Information System (GIS) software to each teacher that took advantage of this great opportunity.
