High Desert Education Service District News Item

Weekly science projects are taught at the Bridges program held at Lava Ridge Elementary in Bend. A recent lesson was on how to make a Fizz-Inflator. They discussed what tools to use, ingredients needed and how to measure. Several students took turns making their own fizz-Inflator.

The High Desert Education Service District partners with the Bend La Pine and Redmond School Districts and Early Childhood Special Education to provide behavior-based strategies for teaching young children (ages 2-9) with Autism and other disabilities. Using a process called Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the partnership serves children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as those with behavioral disorders, multiple disabilities and severe intellectual handicaps.
